Friends of Brookdale

Friends of Brookdale is the PTA responsible for fundraising for the school. We consist of a committee of parents and teachers who meet every 6-8 weeks (usually in the Twelfth Man) to organise events.

We try to have a variety of events including regulars such as:

Mother's and Father's Day wraps
Summer Fair
Christmas Bazaar
Discos
Art competitions
Raffles
Bingo

We are always looking for new ideas and eagerly welcome offers of assistance.

Any money we raise is used for the benefit of the children, either directly for their education e.g. Interactive whiteboards, books, computers, or indirectly for their social enjoyment e.g. football kits, resurfacing of playground, visits from theatre groups.

The people involved in organising the events have (or have had) children at Brookdale and see supporting the evnts as enriching their children's time spent at the school. We also get a lot of support from the staff in running the various events.

Many may take an active PTA for granted, assuming it is part of every school, however after talking to staff and parents it is clear that this is not always the case.

The Friends of Brookdale enjoy a good relationship with Mr Scholefield and the staff and are very happy to be able to support them in the running of the school.

We would hope that all parents share our view and will continue to support us.
